2nd Conference “ EPOC APplications (EPOCAP)”
Oleron (France)
September 29-October 3, 2008

General information
The European Forum on Electrochemical Promotion of Catalysis (EFEPOC), a European Union funded Marie Curie Action Project for mobility, training and excellence recognition, will hold its Second international Conference on the “Electrochemical Promotion of Catalysis and its APplications ”, EPOCAP.
The EPOCAP Conference aims to regroup all the leading scientists in Electrochemical Promotion of Catalysis (EPOC), around the world from both academia and industry.
This meeting represents a forum where scientific knowledge and expertise on this multidisciplinary and innovative field will be shared and discussed.
Young and experienced researchers will present their latest developments in fundamental and practical aspects of EPOC or Non-faradaic Electrochemical Modification of Catalytic Activity (NEMCA) effect. Furthermore, it promotes interactions and collaborations of academia and industry around the world, in order to better structure and strengthen the EPOC research community by defragmenting the European resources: organisation of scientific exchanges, common publication and experiments, congress organisation, harmonization of methodology.
Scientific field
The goal of EPOCAP will be to give an overview of recent and future practical developments of the EPOC concept and to induce discussions and exchanges between public research centres and industry. The various aspects of the applications of the electrochemical catalysts will be discussed during this conference: car exhaust post-treatment, VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) abatement, catalytic combustion of natural gas, fuels cells, on-board sensors...
Topics of the conference:
Development of electrochemical reactors
Elaboration and characterization of catalyst thin films
EPOC for fuel cells
Electrochemical sensors
EPOC for environmental and energy applications
